With a fun, flavorful new menu that's generous to your belly whilst modest on your wallet, Mugg and Bean is transforming from an old favorite to a new hot spot. Mugg and Bean, Carlswald in Midrand offers great, speedy service with a smile, offering delicious meals and great ambiance any time of the day. Everything on the newly revamped menu looks divine, the portions are huge,filling and delicious, yet kind on the dime, case in point, their yummy signature burgers. Something to definitely write home about is the hot, sweet and delicious, Pecan Nut Pie with a soft base that tastes like a hot serving of pancakes and syrup. This sweet, sticky, rustic treat goes best with a dollop of whipped cream and vanilla ice cream that melts into its sticky, hot goodness making it even more scrumptious to the palate. I call this pure love ;)

Primi Piatti, Midrand

Primi Piatti in Midrand has a cozy ambiance and their Classic Italian dishes are simply sublime with an Indian fusion take on several of their signature pastas. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. On the numerous occassions that I have visited the restaurant I have experienced the waitron leave patrons unattended to for extended periods even before meal orders had been taken; this is surprising considering that the place has never been so busy that managers are unaware of who is on their floor. Nonetheless, if you don't mind the wait, the intimate setting makes for a great date spot with great tasting food. Their beef medallions are yum but for a little Indian flavour, I highly recommend the Recco with Chicken, it is simple divine. No doubt, Primi really does do their Pasta well. I give Primi Piatti, Midrand, a 3.5 star rating.

Mike's Kitchen, Parktown offer ambiance, excellent service and food so delicious, the Gods, themselves would be impressed. For an evening out the decor, setting and ambiance promises for an intimate affair or for a fun afternoon out with the family, there's a jumping castle supervised by Mike's friendly staff, so you can let the little ones run wild while you enjoy your meal. I highly recommend the ladies ribs, chicken cordon bleu and chicken medallions for mains and not to mention Mike's famous burgers, definately something to write home about. But I guarantee anything you order will be out of this world delicious! I give Mike's a well deserved 5 star rating. Please go and enjoy yourself, you won't regret that you did.
